[ as the device's screen turns on, you're treated to the sight of two ralts. they don't seem to be doing anything in particular, but that's enough to inspire makoto to pull out of her device. this thing takes pictures, right? she's not entirely sure, but if it's a phone, it's gotta have that kind of function!

so while she fiddles with her device, inadvertently turning it on, she calls out to another person. ]

Hey, Ryo! Ryo! Look! They're cute, aren't they?

[Another voice gives a light giggle at Makoto's excitement. When she's excited like this, even Ryo can't stay worried about their predicament!]

You really like them, don't you Makoto-san...? Though, to be honest, I think they're more "cool" than "cute".

Ah, I did read through the guidebook... Wild ones go "BO~N!" when you walk around in tall grass, and you're supposed to use the Pokemon you have to defend yourself, right?

Ding! Ding! Ding! That's right! Just remember to pay attention to how strong your Pokemon are. If you're in a battle that you can't win, you gotta run.

Though, Kazama-san, could you tell me more about the gyms? Like, how will I know that my Pokemon are ready to take one on...?

The gyms? There's around eight gyms for each region. Each of the gyms have a leader who specialize in their speciality. Like one could be for Flying! Or another could be for Darkness! The list goes on!

And check your Guide for the levels of your Pokemon. I haven't taken on a Gym Leader yet, but it wouldn't hurt to ask people how strong the leaders are for each city.
